Best Cordless Drill for Homeowners (2026)
Here are two drill kits whose specs we checked on the manufacturer pages. We have not hands-on tested either one yet, so we don't give ratings. Everything below is the maker's own spec.
| Kit | Maker-listed specs | Price |
|---|---|---|
| DEWALT 20V MAX Drill/Driver Kit (DCD771C2) | 20V; brushed motor; 2-speed, 0-450 and 0-1,500 RPM; 300 UWO; 1/2" keyless chuck; two 1.5Ah batteries and charger included | Check current price |
| Milwaukee M12 FUEL 1/2" Drill/Driver Kit (3403-22) | 12V; 400 in-lbs max torque; 0-1,550 RPM; tool weight listed at 2.5 lbs | Check current price |
Which one to choose
Pick the 20V DEWALT kit if you want a full-size drill with two batteries in the box for general home jobs. Note that DEWALT measures power in UWO, not in-lbs, so you can't compare its number directly against torque figures from other brands.
Pick the 12V Milwaukee kit if you care most about low weight and a compact size for overhead or tight-space work.
